feat: add group chat context prompt

Squash merge PR #114 after resolving changelog and pipeline input conflicts with current dev. Local checks passed: go test ./internal/agent ./cmd ./internal/channels/..., go build ./..., go build -tags sqliteonly ./..., and go vet ./.... PR CI run 26705332779 passed release-versioning, go, and web.

## 2026-05-29
### Group chat context in agent prompts
**Features**
- Added `## Current Chat Context` to agent system prompts for channel runs. Group chats now show platform, chat type, optional group name, group ID, and sender identity when metadata is available.
- Preserved existing `<current_reply_target>` routing guard and group reply guidance while making the human-readable chat context explicit.
- Added best-effort Discord channel title forwarding from the local `discordgo.State` cache. No hot-path REST lookup or schema change.
**Fixes**
- Normalized WhatsApp `user_name` metadata into the existing sender-name resolver so WhatsApp group prompts can include sender display names.
- Sanitized group titles and sender display names before prompt rendering to strip quotes/control whitespace and cap length.
**Tests**
- Added prompt contract coverage for group title, missing title, direct chats, and prompt-injection-shaped metadata.
- Added Discord cached-channel-title and sender-name resolver coverage.

# Phase 1: TDD Prompt Contract
## Context Links
- Plan: `plans/260528-1807-group-chat-context-system-prompt/plan.md`
- Issue: `digitopvn/goclaw#70`
- Prompt builder: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go`
- Prompt tests: `internal/agent/systemprompt_*_test.go`
## Overview
Define and lock expected prompt output before implementation. Prove exact block shape for group, direct, missing-title, and injection-shaped metadata cases.
## Key Insights
- Existing prompt already has `ChatTitle`, `ChatID`, and `PeerKind`.
- Data is split between an identity sentence and `<current_reply_target>`.
- User approved a clear block format, not just extending `<current_reply_target>`.
- Group title is admin-controlled input. Sanitize before prompt output.
## Requirements
- Functional: failing tests for `## Current Chat Context`.
- Functional: group prompt includes platform, chat type, group name when known, group ID, user display/name and sender ID.
- Functional: direct prompt does not expose group fields.
- Non-functional: no channel or DB changes in this phase.
## Architecture
Test `BuildSystemPrompt(SystemPromptConfig)` directly with small string assertions.
Expected group block:
```text
## Current Chat Context
- Platform: telegram
- Chat type: Group
- Group name: GoClaw Contributors
- Group ID: -1001234567890
- User: Alice (ID: 123456)
```
## Related Code Files
- Modify: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go` only if compile requires new config field.
- Modify or create: `internal/agent/systemprompt_chat_context_test.go`.
## Implementation Steps
1. Add failing test for group prompt with title and sender display name.
2. Add failing test for group prompt without title; assert no `Group name:` line.
3. Add failing test for direct chat; assert no `Group ID` or `Group name`.
4. Add failing test for sanitization: newlines and quotes in title/user name stripped/replaced and capped.
5. Keep assertions on relevant block lines, not full prompt.
## Tests Before
- `go test ./internal/agent -run 'ChatContext|CurrentChatContext'`
- Expected before implementation: fail because block does not exist.
## Refactor
- None except adding minimal config field if tests need it.
## Tests After
- Same targeted tests still fail until Phase 3 implements renderer.
- No unrelated test rewrites.
## Todo List
- [x] Add prompt contract tests.
- [x] Verify tests fail for missing block.
- [x] Document exact expected block in test names.
## Success Criteria
- [x] Failing tests cover group with title, group without title, direct chat, sanitization.
- [x] Test names describe scenario, not plan labels.
- [x] No implementation logic added before failing tests exist.
## Risk Assessment
- Risk: brittle full-prompt tests. Mitigation: assert only relevant block lines.
- Risk: user name not available in config. Mitigation: add optional `SenderName` in Phase 3.
## Security Considerations
- Treat group name and user display name as untrusted prompt content.
- Sanitize newline, carriage return, quotes, and long text.
## Next Steps
- Phase 2 normalizes channel metadata so prompt input has best-effort group names.

# Phase 2: Channel Metadata Normalization
## Context Links
- Metadata key: `internal/tools/team_metadata_keys.go`
- Consumer mapping: `cmd/gateway_consumer_normal.go`
- Telegram: `internal/channels/telegram/handlers.go`
- Discord: `internal/channels/discord/handler.go`
- Feishu/Lark: `internal/channels/feishu/bot.go`
- Slack: `internal/channels/slack/handlers.go`, `internal/channels/slack/handlers_mention.go`
- WhatsApp: `internal/channels/whatsapp/inbound.go`
- Zalo Personal: `internal/channels/zalo/personal/handlers.go`
- Bitrix24: `internal/channels/bitrix24/handle.go`
## Overview
Normalize best-effort group metadata from all group-capable channels into existing metadata flow. No schema. No fake group names when platform data is unavailable.
## Key Insights
- Telegram already sets `tools.MetaChatTitle`.
- `cmd/gateway_consumer_normal.go` already maps `MetaChatTitle` into `RunRequest.ChatTitle`.
- Discord/Slack have channel IDs today; channel name may need existing cache/context.
- Zalo Personal already sets `group_id`; Bitrix24 group ID is `DialogID`; WhatsApp group ID is group JID.
## Requirements
- Functional: all group-capable adapters preserve group ID through `ChatID`.
- Functional: adapters set `tools.MetaChatTitle` when they already know group/channel display name.
- Functional: user display name still flows through existing `SenderName` resolution.
- Non-functional: no DB migration, no extra hot-path network call only for prompt title.
## Architecture
Normalize into current run fields:
| Prompt Field | Source |
|---|---|
| Platform | `RunRequest.ChannelType`, fallback `Channel` |
| Chat type | `RunRequest.PeerKind` |
| Group ID | `RunRequest.ChatID` |
| Group name | `RunRequest.ChatTitle` from `tools.MetaChatTitle` |
| User | `RunRequest.SenderName` and `RunRequest.SenderID` |
Adapters only populate `tools.MetaChatTitle` where known. Missing title is acceptable.
## Related Code Files
- Modify: `internal/channels/*` group handlers as needed.
- Modify: existing channel tests listed above.
- Do not modify: migrations, store interfaces, session key builders.
## Implementation Steps
1. Audit each group-capable channel for current group title/name availability.
2. Add tests first for metadata forwarding where title is already available.
3. Telegram: keep existing `MetaChatTitle`; add/adjust test to lock behavior.
4. Discord/Slack/Feishu/WhatsApp/Zalo: set `MetaChatTitle` only if handler already has name or cheap cached lookup.
5. Bitrix24: rely on `ChatID`; do not add portal API lookup for group name.
6. Keep topic/thread metadata unchanged.
## Tests Before
- Adapter tests fail for channels with available group name but missing `MetaChatTitle`.
- `go test ./internal/channels/telegram ./internal/channels/discord ./internal/channels/feishu ./internal/channels/slack ./internal/channels/whatsapp ./internal/channels/zalo/... ./internal/channels/bitrix24`
## Refactor
- Prefer reusing `channels.SanitizeDisplayName`.
- Add a tiny helper only if two or more adapters duplicate sanitation.
## Tests After
- Channel unit tests pass.
- Existing routing/thread tests still pass.
- No tests require live platform APIs.
## Todo List
- [x] Lock Telegram title forwarding.
- [x] Add best-effort title tests where available.
- [x] Document unavailable-title platforms in completion notes.
- [x] Ensure Bitrix24 group ID remains `ChatID`.
## Success Criteria
- [x] Every group-capable channel preserves group ID via `ChatID`.
- [x] Every channel with known group name sets `tools.MetaChatTitle`.
- [x] No new schema or session-key format.
- [x] No hot-path title enrichment API calls.
## Completion Notes
- Telegram already forwards `tools.MetaChatTitle` from `message.Chat.Title`.
- Discord now forwards cached channel name from `discordgo.State` when present; no REST lookup added.
- WhatsApp sender display name now flows through `user_name` in `resolveSenderName`.
- Feishu/Lark, Slack, WhatsApp, Zalo Personal, and Bitrix24 keep group ID through `ChatID`; their inbound payloads do not provide a group display name in the current hot path, so `Group name` remains optional.
## Risk Assessment
- Risk: chasing names causes API/cache scope creep. Mitigation: group name optional.
- Risk: inconsistent platform naming. Mitigation: renderer uses channel type label; metadata supplies only title.
## Security Considerations
- Metadata remains untrusted. Prompt renderer sanitizes again.
- Do not log full message content while adding tests.
## Next Steps
- Phase 3 renders the prompt block using normalized metadata and run request fields.

# Phase 3: Prompt Rendering Integration
## Context Links
- Prompt config: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go`
- Loop message builder: `internal/agent/loop_history.go`
- Bridge prompt builder: `internal/agent/prompt_builder_impl.go`
- Prompt config types: `internal/agent/prompt_config_types.go`
- Consumer run request: `cmd/gateway_consumer_normal.go`
## Overview
Add explicit `## Current Chat Context` renderer and wire sender display name through prompt config. Preserve existing identity sentence, `<current_reply_target>`, group reply hint, and channel formatting hints.
## Key Insights
- `RunRequest.SenderName` already exists and is populated by `resolveSenderName(msg)`.
- `BuildSystemPrompt` receives `SenderID` but not sender display name.
- Chat context belongs in early dynamic identity prompt content.
## Requirements
- Functional: render approved block format.
- Functional: include group fields only for `PeerKind == "group"`.
- Functional: direct chat never shows group name or group ID.
- Non-functional: small helper, no template engine, no unrelated prompt reordering.
## Architecture
Add optional field:
```go
type SystemPromptConfig struct {
SenderName string
}
```
Wire:
```text
RunRequest.SenderName
-> buildMessages(...)
-> SystemPromptConfig.SenderName
-> buildCurrentChatContext(cfg)
```
Renderer rules:
- Platform: `ChannelType` fallback `Channel`.
- Chat type: `Group` for `PeerKind == "group"`, else `Direct`.
- Group name: sanitized `ChatTitle`, only if non-empty and group.
- Group ID: `ChatID`, only if non-empty and group.
- User: prefer sanitized `SenderName`; include `(ID: SenderID)` when `SenderID` non-empty.
## Related Code Files
- Modify: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go`
- Modify: `internal/agent/loop_history.go`
- Modify: `internal/agent/prompt_config_types.go`
- Modify: `internal/agent/prompt_builder_impl.go`
- Modify tests from Phase 1.
## Implementation Steps
1. Add `SenderName` to `SystemPromptConfig` and `IdentityData`.
2. Pass `SenderName` from `buildMessages` into `BuildSystemPrompt`.
3. Update `BridgePromptBuilder` to preserve field compatibility.
4. Implement `sanitizePromptContextValue` helper near existing identity logic.
5. Implement `buildCurrentChatContext(cfg)`.
6. Insert block after opening identity sentence and before `<current_reply_target>`.
7. Run prompt tests and adjust only if tests contradict approved format.
## Tests Before
- Phase 1 prompt tests fail.
## Refactor
- Extract existing title sanitation to avoid duplicate inline logic.
- Keep helper private to `systemprompt.go`.
## Tests After
- `go test ./internal/agent`
- `go test ./cmd`
- `go test ./internal/pipeline` if bridge tests require it.
## Todo List
- [x] Add `SenderName` config field.
- [x] Render block.
- [x] Preserve `<current_reply_target>`.
- [x] Preserve group reply hint.
- [x] Update bridge prompt tests if needed.
## Success Criteria
- [x] Prompt block matches approved format for group chats.
- [x] Existing prompt sections still present.
- [x] No provider-specific prompt regressions.
- [x] Direct chat behavior covered and intentional.
## Review Fixes
- Moved `## Current Chat Context` below `CacheBoundaryMarker` because sender identity is per-turn metadata.
- Added explicit untrusted-metadata wording so group titles and sender names are context only, never instructions.
## Risk Assessment
- Risk: token bloat. Mitigation: 4-5 short lines only.
- Risk: duplicate data with `<current_reply_target>`. Mitigation: block is human-readable; XML target remains routing guard.
- Risk: sender display unavailable. Mitigation: show user ID if name empty.
## Security Considerations
- Sanitize in renderer, not only adapters.
- Do not mention group-specific rules/memory; not implemented.
## Next Steps
- Phase 4 verifies build/test and publishes issue handoff.

# Phase 4: Validation and Issue Handoff
## Context Links
- GitHub issue: `digitopvn/goclaw#70`
- Plan path: `plans/260528-1807-group-chat-context-system-prompt/plan.md`
- Required checks: `CLAUDE.md` post-implementation checklist
## Overview
Validate the prompt-only implementation, update issue handoff, and keep docs impact explicit. Current planning task also comments issue #70 with plan summary.
## Key Insights
- Later code implementation must compile and run focused tests.
- Current user request: create worktree + branch, create plan, commit+push, reply issue with summary and filepath.
## Requirements
- Functional: focused tests pass for prompt and changed channel adapters.
- Functional: build passes after implementation.
- Functional: GitHub issue receives plan summary and path.
- Non-functional: no secret files staged; no unrelated staged files from main checkout.
## Architecture
Validation ladder:
```text
prompt tests -> channel metadata tests -> cmd consumer tests -> go build ./...
```
Issue comment includes:
- Plan path
- Scope boundaries
- Phase list
- Test gates
- Branch link
## Related Code Files
- Modify: `docs/project-changelog.md` only during implementation if code lands.
- No code file modified by planning-only commit.
## Implementation Steps
1. For current planning task: commit plan files only on `codex/issue-70-group-context-plan`.
2. Push branch.
3. Comment `digitopvn/goclaw#70` with plan summary and filepath.
4. For later implementation: run focused tests after each phase.
5. Before implementation PR: run `go build ./...`; consider `go build -tags sqliteonly ./...` because prompt code affects desktop.
6. Update changelog after implementation, not for planning-only commit unless repo convention requires it.
## Tests Before
- Not applicable to planning-only commit.
- Later implementation starts with failing prompt contract tests from Phase 1.
## Refactor
- None. This phase validates and hands off.
## Tests After
- Planning-only: `git diff --check`, `git status --short`, staged diff secret scan.
- Later implementation: `go test ./internal/agent ./cmd ./internal/channels/...`, `go build ./...`.
## Todo List
- [x] Commit implementation phases.
- [x] Run focused tests and compile checks.
- [x] Run code review and fix findings.
- [x] Record unresolved questions, if any.
## Success Criteria
- [x] Branch contains scoped implementation artifacts for issue #70.
- [x] Issue #70 ready for implementation result comment after PR creation.
- [x] Plan executed phase-by-phase with commits.
- [x] Unresolved questions section says none.
## Validation Results
- `go test ./internal/agent ./cmd ./internal/channels/...`: pass.
- `go build ./...`: pass.
- `go build -tags sqliteonly ./...`: pass.
- `go vet ./...`: pass.
## Review Results
- Code review found prompt-cache placement and untrusted metadata wording issues.
- Both fixed before PR handoff.
## Risk Assessment
- Risk: dirty main checkout stages unrelated files. Mitigation: use isolated worktree and explicit path staging.
- Risk: issue comment overpromises implementation. Mitigation: call it approved implementation plan, not completed feature.
## Security Considerations
- Run staged diff secret scan before commit.
- Do not include env values, tokens, or private webhook payloads in issue comment.
## Next Steps
- Recommended next command after planning: `/ck:cook /Users/duynguyen/.codex/worktrees/issue-70-group-context-plan/plans/260528-1807-group-chat-context-system-prompt/plan.md`
## Unresolved Questions
None.

# Group Chat Context System Prompt
## Overview
Implement `digitopvn/goclaw#70`: when an agent handles a group chat message, system prompt includes a clear current chat context block with platform, chat type, group name when known, group ID, and sender identity.
Scope is prompt-only. No group-specific memory, rules engine, DB schema, session-key, or workspace behavior changes.
## Current Code Context
- Prompt input shape: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go` (`SystemPromptConfig.ChatID`, `ChatTitle`, `PeerKind`, `SenderID`)
- Prompt assembly: `internal/agent/systemprompt.go` (`BuildSystemPrompt`)
- Loop wiring: `internal/agent/loop_history.go`
- Inbound consumer: `cmd/gateway_consumer_normal.go`
- Metadata key: `internal/tools/team_metadata_keys.go` (`MetaChatTitle`)
- Group-capable channels: Telegram, Discord, Feishu/Lark, Slack, WhatsApp, Zalo Personal, Bitrix24
## Phases
| Phase | Name | Status |
|-------|------|--------|
| 1 | [TDD Prompt Contract](./phase-01-tdd-prompt-contract.md) | Complete |
| 2 | [Channel Metadata Normalization](./phase-02-channel-metadata-normalization.md) | Complete |
| 3 | [Prompt Rendering Integration](./phase-03-prompt-rendering-integration.md) | Complete |
| 4 | [Validation and Issue Handoff](./phase-04-validation-and-issue-handoff.md) | Complete |
## Dependencies
- GitHub issue: `digitopvn/goclaw#70`
- No blocking plan found in this worktree.
- Preserve existing `<current_reply_target>` behavior and group reply hints.
## Acceptance Criteria
- Group prompt contains `## Current Chat Context`.
- Group prompt includes platform, `Chat type: Group`, group ID, and user identity.
- Group name is included only when known after sanitization.
- DM prompt does not include group name or group ID.
- All group-capable channel adapters forward best-effort normalized group metadata without adding DB schema.
- `go test ./internal/agent ./cmd ./internal/channels/...` and `go build ./...` pass before implementation PR.
